It's always a great time when we go 'up north' to Lori and Jeff's cabin at Cross Lake. We have been up there for motorcylcing, 4-wheelin', snowmobiling and now for the Cross Lake St. Patrick's Day Parade.

The parade was at noon Saturday and we followed that up with a great corned beef and cabbage meal at the Riverside. Then on to the Manhattan Beach Club.

GREEN was required...some were a little less green than others....I did hesitate on wearing the wig, but I recieved a lot of complements on it, some wanted to know where they could get one. (WalMart)

Have a Blarneyful day and don't forget to post a comment on the Unity Stamp Company blog for a chance to win a stamp set. If they get 500 posts two people will win a set.....

My Birthday Weekend.....

So back to Friday night. After we went out to eat with friends
we came back home to play Wii, while the guys played
and the girls napped, I opened cards! It took a long time.
The picture is a little dark but you can see the piles
of cards as my friend Mary, her husband Aaron
and my husband Tim read them.
Mary said, 'it's not over yet.'
I think she was having a little too much fun.

On Saturday morning Tim and I went to the cities with our daughter Megan. We stayed with d#1 and her husband, Nick. The guys were going to hang out and the girls and I were going 'yarn shop hopping'. The first shop in St.Paul, Borealis, was my favorite. Found the knitting needle cases above there, Megan picked the small on and Randi the large one. After a few more yarn shops we spent a little time on Grand Avenue in St.Paul. Found a few 'goodies' there too.

After shopping we met up with the
guys at Randi and Nick's place to go out
to eat. They wanted to surprise me as to
where we were going so they actually
blind folded me. We ended up at the
'Machine Shed' in Woodbury. Good
old fashioned 'farm' food.
Even though our SIL grew up in St.Paul
he enjoys a lot about 'country' life.
After that we went to Nick's parents
house, also in Woodbury, for
game night and cake.
With the time change we decided to
make it an early night. The next
morning after breakfast Tim and
I headed out, made a few stops in the
cities and then headed home........... this in our yard!!![Thanks to a dear sister!!;)]

I then walked in the door to this basket full of gifts on our steps. I didn't count them but I'm sure there are 50!!!! I just finished opening them this morning.....

And with the gifts on the steps was our mail, and 53 more cards......below is all the packages and cards that I have received in the last week and a half. (I have heard there may be more today.) I would like to thank every one who sent me a birthday card, it was fun to see the post marks and to try to figure out who sent some of them!!! THANK YOU!!! (If anyone needs info on retirement villages/assisted living facilities just let me know, I know where to go in central Minnesota.) To my friend in Alexandria, you have too much time on your hands..... and to my dear friend from the 'dump', thanks for making my B-day special! Thank you to our girls for spending time with just me....we need more time like that....priority in our busy lives. I hope this is it, but I am still suspicious.....

Keeping the USPS in business.....

Yesterday my dear(sneaky) friend Mary and I spent the day in St. Cloud shopping and getting pedicures and manicures. We started doing this last year to celebrate our birthdays!! And since mine is Sunday 'our day' was in order. We kept the shopping limited, the pedicure was really at the top of our list.

I should give a few more details, this is my 50th Birthday!
The one thing that is happening to me as I near the big 5-0 is that I have become very suspicious. Who wouldn't when a week before your birthday you start receiving a lot of mail (and voicemail) from 'living facilities'!!

Anyway, we had a wonderful day! But it wasn't over! We had plans to go out to eat and I asked our friends to stop at the house and we would leave from there. Well, that's when my DH Tim decided to give me a few of my Birthday cards that came this past week. There has to be over 50 pieces.

Well, out the door..... we're headed to the cities to spend the weekend with daughter #1 and her DH, daughter #2 is joining us..... I'll finish the story when I get back, I'm sure it has just begun......

Cracked me up......

This 'flamingo' is a new addition to the LYS that I work part time at. He's felted out of Galway wool. He is just hillarious. We all need something out of the ordinary sitting around our house!???

This pile is what I'm working on now!! Want to start 'Mr. Greenjeans' but I won't allow myself to until the Alpaca Sox are done. (the brown on the left). The aqua(Galway)will be a felted eyeglass case, that one is my 'mindless' knitting that I can throw in my purse and work on any where. Then the brown on the right is Berroco Comfort that will be a afgahn square for a baby blanket I'm making for my neice who is having a
boy in about May.

Now off to work at the EC. Have a wonderful day!!
