"You better pray that will come out of the carpet."

3. My mother taught me about TIME TRAVEL.
"If you don't straighten up, I'm going to knock you into the middle of next week."

4. My mother taught me LOGIC.
"Because I said so, that's why."

5. My mother taught me MORE LOGIC.
"If you fall out of that swing and break your neck, you're not going to the store with me."

6. My mother taught me FORESIGHT.
"Make sure you wear clean underwear, in case you're in an accident."

7. My mother taught me IRONY.
"Keep crying, and I'll give you something to cry about."

"Shut your mouth and eat your supper."

"If you don't stop crossing your eyes they are going to stick that way."

15.My mother taught me ESP.
"Put your sweater on, don't you think I know when you are cold?"

16. My mother taught me HUMOR.
"When that lawn mower cuts off your toes, don't come running to me."

17. My mother taught me HOW TO BECOME AN ADULT.
"If you don't eat your vegetables, you'll never grow up."

18. My mother taught me GENETICS.
"You're just like your father."

19. My mother taught me about my ROOTS.
"Shut that door behind you. Do you think you were born in a barn?"

Two days before you became.....

.....a mom!

I know the joy you feel!
You two will always be my babies!

Your joy will never end!

(There will be heart ache too,

it just makes your relationships closer!)

Then you'll find a new joy as a grandmother!

(Thank you!)

Have a Happy Mother's Day!

BEFORE I WAS A MOM!

Before I was a Mom,

I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.

I didn’t worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.

I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,

I had never been puked on.

Pooped on.

Chewed on.

Peeed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.

I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,

I never held down a screaming child

so doctors could do tests.

Or give shots.

I never looked into teary eyes and cried.

I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.

I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,

I never held a sleeping baby

just because I didn’t want to put him down.

I never felt my heart break into a million pieces

when I couldn’t stop the hurt.

I never knew that something so small

could affect my life so much.

I never knew that I could love someone so much.

I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom -
I didn’t know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.

I didn’t know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.

I didn’t know that bond between a mother and her child.

I didn’t know that something so small

could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom,

I had never gotten up in the middle of the night

every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,

the joy,

the love,

the heartache,

the wonderment

or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn’t know I was capable of feeling so much,

before I was a Mom.

(unsure who wrote this)

"My mommy!"
